Congratulations to Annie Tian、Cindy Li、David Jin、Grace Gu、Jenny Li Ivy Education’s Students of the Month!
I would like to nominate Annie Tian for student of the month. She is enthusiastic about science lessons and has the ability to speak well and in depth about many science topics. Annie takes her studies seriously and always takes notes, which she refers to often. Because of her curious nature and intelligence, she is going to be a great scientist one day. I look forward to all of our lessons together!
Teacher Nancy:
I would like to nominate Cindy Li for student of the month. Cindy has been my student for more than 2 and half years, and in all that time, we have never run out of interesting topics to talk about. She is curious and asks good questions, but more importantly, she listens carefully and keeps asking until she understands. Cindy has a delightful sense of humor, and she willingly shares her experiences with me. Recently she switched from studying science to studying social studies. Even though the new vocabulary is more challenging to her, Cindy continues to work with determination and good humor.
Teacher Elizabeth:
I would like to nominate David Jin for student of the month. David is a phenomenal student and a complete pleasure to teach. He is always on time with a huge smile on his face ans ready to learn each week. He has never missed a homework assignment and he goes above and beyond when completing homework. His reading comprehension is wonderful as well as his sense of humor. David is very kind and very funny, so we always have a great lesson each week. He has more than earned recognition for his hard work and dedication, and for these reasons he should be student of the month.
Teacher Robin:
I would like to nominate Grace Gu for student of the month. Grace came to me almost a year ago. She came to my class to learn English and science. She is always on time ready to work hard and learn. Grace has now taken on social studies and has shown progress in all three subject areas. Grace's mom has also noticed the progress. I have moved her up a grade level for all three subjects. Grace also enjoys talking about her off time and her school activities. I enjoy teaching Grace and can't wait to see how far she goes with her studies.
Teacher Sandra:
I'd like to nominate Jenny Li for student of the month for August. Jenny is a very engaged student of American culture and is just completing a very ambitious essay on Native American culture and its impact on American culture generally. We have spent some time on A+ lessons detailing how the Europeans systematically destroyed indigenous cultures when they arrived in the New World, yet built much of American culture on Native American language and arts. Jenny's interest never flags and each new piece of reading about how Native Americans live now makes her even more eager to record and draw conclusions from her findings. Her intellectual curiosity drives her to deeper and deeper investigations into each aspect of American culture until she is satisfied that she has as complete a picture as possible for her purposes. Having started a new study on American attitudes to communism, she is just as impatient to learn how our attitudes to this form of political thinking have evolved. Teaching Jenny is like going on a journey of discovery together.
